The Buzzoutroom NOW PLAYING: The Rapino Brothers - Go Ahead London
London - Buddha Bar and Big Chill
Well back from London and managed to make it to some of London's finer watering holes as well as some of some of the not-so-finer.
1st place was a pleasant surprise, having always wanted to go to the Big Chill Bar to check things out I jumped on the chance to go. What I found was total BEDLAM! but in a good way. The street that the Big Chill bar is situated on, Brick Lane is filled with Curry shops, drunken brits drinking 500ml cans of beer from the store and the odd pool of vomit.People shoulder to shoulder in an orgy of tunez coming from every direction and beer to wash it all down. The Bar it self was chock-o-block pumping beats and narry a downtempo tune. Don't get me wrong I had a great time...I just thought a place called the Big Chill would be a bit...ummm Chilled. I'd go back again in a second though...

Next.
The Buhha Bar - London.
It just opened Aug 8th this month and I managed to get on the guest list for the club. The bar has some serious style. Great lush interior and some fantastic beats pumping in a sound system that touches every corner of the place. Located right on the bank of the Themes River under a bridge, its a little farther off the beaten track out on its own but well worth the travel to Central London to see its two-storey Buddha inside.
The Bar is one of those world Bars where it will take some time to catch on as their were not as many people there as the mayhem that ensued the night of the Big Chill bar. However, I managed to get into some mischief...but that's another story.

Greetings from London!!!
I am in London right now going to some pretty cool places. Anyone care to join us at the Big Chill Bar? We will be there this Friday night at the Big Chill Bar on Brick Lane in London.
Look for a Bald guy with a shaved head. That's me without the accent with probably several empty pint glasses in front of me...
If anyone has any other recommendations on great chill lounges in London. Please let us know!

Buzzoutroom going to Scotland and London
I'm headed to the UK for a brief trip in August and I'm looking for ideas and people to drink beer with...including some cool downtempo and chilled little known places to check out. Here's the things on my list some of them are a bit a little unrealistic but perhaps some of the Buzzout listeners can help me out...
Here are the dates...

Glasgow Aug 14-19
Edinburgh Aug 19-21
London Aug 21-24

Things I want to do:

1) Have several bevvies and soak up the atmosphere at the Big Chill House
2) See the Boards of Canada in their home town of Edinburgh and buy them a beer
3) See some live bands/music/artists... any suggestions are appreciated!
4) Perhaps spin a song or two
5) Mmmm...Whiskey
6) Anyone have any other suggested chilled places to check out in those locations let me know!!!

Cheers,
Sean
