Well I don't know how I missed this one but Kieran Hebden aka: Four Tet has released a new Mini LP called Ringer. At a runtime of only 32 minutes divided amongst 4 tracks, it is Four Tet through and through. If the goal of only a 30 minute release is to leave you wanting more Kieran has definately achieved that. Tracks such as "Swimmer" provides you with an intense drone and IDM beat with the signature Four Tet layers entering and exiting the meticulously crafted soundstage. All of the tracks have their own unique sound which Kieran brings in sounds of chaos and turns it into melody. Fantastic stuff! This album is also being supported by a small live performance Tour. If you've ever had the chance to see Kieran do Four Tet live its quite the show as he's one of those performers that likes to scare the crap out of the audience. I recommend you not stand close to the speakers or the amps driving them as they are pushed to their design limits by the signals being created for them. If you happen to be in Barcelona on June 12th he'll be performing with Radiohead at the Daydream Festival. Nice. You can check out if he's playing where you are here.
Cheers,
Sean
